Ohio University was founded in 1804 and currently has an enrollment of over 39,000 students across several campuses. Ohio University is comprised of eleven colleges, one of which is the Russ College of Engineering and Technology. The Avionics Engineering Center is a research unit of the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. The Avionics Engineering Center was founded in 1963 and over the past five decades has been involved in the research and development of ILS, Loran-C, DME, GPS and numerous other navigation-related systems and support efforts. The Center operates numerous flight test aircraft including a Douglas DC-3, Beech King Air C90, AeroVodochody L-29 Delfin, Beech Baron and a Piper Saratoga.
